A BILL to amend and reenact section one, article ten, chapter six
of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred
thirty-one, as amended, relating to employment of spouse by
state official or employee.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section one, article ten, chapter six of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. EMPLOYMENT OF SPOUSE BY STATE OFFICIAL OR EMPLOYEE.
§6-10-1. Employment of spouse at public expense prohibited.
The employment of his or her wife spouse at public expense
by any official or employee of the state is expressly prohibited.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit state
officials or employees from employing their spouse at the state's
expense.
